Catamaris® stands for your personal support in the design and construction of fast "custom made" sailing and motor catamarans and explorer catamarans with a length of 17-52 metres. Manufactured from certified aluminium and high-tech composite materials in renowned shipyards in Europe.

Your demand for an exclusive multihull is in safe hands with us. We are at your side from the very first idea and accompany and supervise every single construction phase - right up to the handover of the finished masterpiece with your personal signature.
Catamaris® works exclusively with renowned architects who also have a recognised name in the field of multihulls. They have designed well-known superyachts as Blue Coast, Blue Bay, the trimaran "Galaxy" and for Catamaris® the Catmar® Explorer yachts.
The same applies to the shipyards, which produce exclusively in Europe: Whether in certified aluminium or high-tech composite, the European-based shipyards have decades of experience with the materials and have each built hundreds of large yachts, multihulls and commercial vessels for tough use at sea 365 days a year in all conditions.
The shipyards work with qualified subcontractors for e.g. rigging and sails, electrics, electronics, propulsion, finishing, green electricity, etc., who have also equipped numerous yachts and commercial vessels with high-quality, reliable technology and excellent interiors.
Full Services and support
Catamaris® is your experienced companion from the first contact, in personal discussions and coordination of your new building project, in the presentation of the shipyards, the specialists for electrics, electronics, drives, also Green Power, rig & sails as well as in discussions with the naval- and interior architects.
We work together with you and the architects to create the building specifications and to draw up the concrete quotation for your new premium yacht, as well as to prepare and conclude the building contract.
During the construction phase, we monitor the progress of construction intensively and in detail and report to you on an ongoing basis. We also accompany you on your visits during the construction phase.
We support you with the registration of your yacht as well as with the (eventually) VAT and customs clearance with experts.
We accompany you on the great day of the launching and of course also during the extensive sea trials before delivery.
We can also arrange the most beautiful moment for you, the christening, and we accompany you on the subsequent introductory cruises lasting several days.

Started his career with a diploma in mechanical engineering in the lubrication industry in 1976. Professional experience as a marketing and sales manager in industrial cleaning, general manager of a metal processing company and active in the maritime business since 1998.
As an enthusiastic catamaran sailor, he took over the renowned company, Jan de Boer Catamarans, in 2000. The company is well-known in the Benelux countries for being a multihull specialist, and is active both in the sale and building of luxury cruising catamarans and professionally deployed catamarans for transporting people.
Over 22 years of experience in the basic design and construction of yachts made of metal and fibreglass.
The accumulated experience and that of my partner Rolf Kohlhas has resulted in a unique competence network for the implementation of your demanding catamaran project: CATAMARIS®.

Trained as a technical wood merchant, studied business administration and worked in woodworking and construction companies.
1979 Step into self-employment with the founding of a specialist retail chain for sportswear with 23 branches throughout Germany.
1978 - 1983 Training and completion of all sailing licences, instructor's licence.
1986 Founded a yacht sales company selling sailing yachts and ocean-going catamarans made by leading manufacturers worldwide.
2011 Focus on conception, planning and construction supervision of large-scale custom-built catamaran projects.
Strengths: Listening, advising, designing, organising, inspecting, technical and support expertise.

Jean-Jacques Coste
Jean-Jacques Coste is a world leading naval architect and interior designer for large multihull yachts from 17 to 53 m / 58 to 174 ft. As a leading design house for luxury multihulls since 1990, Jean-Jacques Coste and his design company COSTE DESIGN has unique and innovative experience.
Luxurious, modern designs and very good sailing performance are the brand core of the Naval Architect and Interior Designer Jean-Jacques Coste and his company COSTE DESIGN.
Jean-Jacques has designed such famous yachts as the sailing catamarans "Rafoly" "Cartouche”, the 105ft. "Allure" and the 53m carbon trimaran "Galaxy" among many others.

Jean-Jacques uses both classified Sealium® aluminium and high-tech composite materials. This results in light weight, strength and extreme durability through the infusion of epoxy resin/fibreglass/carbon fibre and PU foam core.
Each BLUE COAST® catamaran is unique. Jean-Jacques Coste's signature has made his designs timeless and elegant while maximising performance, comfort and luxury.
Jean-Jacques Coste's design also ensures a restful night's sleep in Singapore Airlines' private 1st class sleeping cabins on their Airbus A380 fleet.

Marimecs
Marimecs Naval-Architects in Holland, headed by Eric van Prooijen, is the naval architect for Catmar Explorer® sailing and motor catamarans from 57 - 78 feet / 17.55-24.00m. 100% wheelchair accessible designs are also available.
Shipyards aluminium
CATMAR® aluminium catamarans are built by our business partner, the shipyard Dijkstra Jachtbouw in Harlingen (Holland), which was founded in 2003. Dijkstra is highly specialised in newbuildings of large catamarans made of certified aluminium. The shipyard is certified by "Germanischer Lloyd" and "Bureau Veritas". The outstanding quality of the new buildings is the result of 20 years of experience in building more than 180 vessels and yachts.
Shipyards high-tech composite
All catamarans and trimarans made of high-tech composite material, e.g. sandwich epoxy resin and glass/carbon/PU foam using the infusion process, are built in Europe. The shipyards in France, Germany, Spain and Lithuania have decades of experience in building large super and mega yachts, multihulls and commercial vessels for tough use at sea 365 days a year in all conditions.
